Spartanburg Social Security Offices

The office is situated in the Business Technology Center with entrances on both Dunbar and Commerce Streets. There is plenty of parking at the Dunbar Street garage just behind the bus station.

Spartanburg County Public Library
The Spartanburg County Public Library is also strategically located in Downtown Spartanburg and serves as the center for information, knowledge, and empowerment. The library was established in the late 1880s and was made a tax-supported institution in 1947.
The library strives to deliver the best service possible to Spartanburg County citizens to quench their thirst for knowledge. It offers ten full-service local mobile libraries in addition to the bookmobile.
Spartanburg County Public Library is well equipped with adequate programming for children and adults. It also offers free internet access, meeting rooms, and shelves full of books, music, magazines, and more.
Spartanburg County Courthouse
The Spartanburg County Courthouse remains one of the oldest buildings in Downtown Spartanburg. In 1785, Upstate’s Ninety-Six District was officially divided into three portions, namely Abbeville County, Spartanburg County, and Union County.
Two years later, a county courthouse was constructed in Spartanburg County on a piece of land acquired from Thomas Williamson. The courthouse has served Spartanburg residents for many years and remains one of the most noticeable landmarks in Downtown Spartanburg.
The current courthouse was renovated in 1956 to give it a facelift. It is the fourth county courthouse, but the first one was not located in Downtown Spartanburg.
